"Something New"

The most requested boat ever has been "a boat that will carry two people and can be handled by one from a car top or truck bed". Pictures and specifications will be posted soon. It is one of the best boats ever form our shop.

"Black River Guide"

The "Guide" is a straight forward open boat refined after many outings on the river. It is built for one man to handle from a truck bed or car top and use with room for an occasional passenger. Its most outstanding feature is simplicity in transporting, cleaning and maintenance. All controls are at the fingertips. Its precise control and quiet operation make it ideal for wildlife photography, fishing or just getting out on the water. It has a well that can be used as a wet well for fishing or as an ice well for drinks or use dry to protect valuables. The seat and arms are comfortable for many hours of travel while maintaining a low center of gravity for maximum stability. The skeg protects the motor and propeller and allows the boat to "skip" obstacles such as underwater logs at 5 inches of depth. The "Guide" can operate in as little as 8" of water at reduced speeds and its low profile allows for 17 inches of overhead clearance. Click here for more details. Length over all (LOA)-14'4", Beam-30", Batteries (12V x 200RAC)-1, System voltage-12, Static Thrust (lbs.)-45, Capacity (lbs.)-325, Top speed (mph)-5, Hours at 3 mph (cruise)*-12

"Black River Bullet"

The Black River "Bullet" is designed to carry up to four persons, yet when empty is light enough to carry on a truck bed although a trailer is recommend. Though built for the shallow draft of the rivers and backwaters, it is at home on lakes and other larger waters. Electrical options are available, such as lights, bilge pump and on board charger. The center two seats are removable to allow for different passenger configurations or cargo. The "Bullet" features excellent steering control via a tiller at the left hand. Fully variable speed control with forward and reverse and amp meter is on the control panel at the right hand. There is storage under the rear seat and in the bow for life vests or camping gear. The battery compartments are beneath the front and operator's seats. The compartment to the rear of the operators seat can be used as an ice well or can be flooded for use as a wet well, an option. Click here for more details.

Length over all (LOA)-15'11", Beam-42", Batteries (12V x 200RAC)-2/3, System voltage-24/36, Static Thrust (lbs.)-65/105, Capacity (lbs.)-600, Top speed (mph)-5.5, Hours at 3 mph (cruise)*-24

Our propulsion systems consists of a submersible Electric permanent magnet DC motor. The motor mounting shaft rotates for steering, giving greater control than the use of a rudder. The motor is protected by a skeg allowing the boat to slip over or be pulled across obstacles. The power is delivered to the motor through Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for maximum control and efficiency. High bypass allows for operation at low battery conditions or for top speed in close situations. Black River Boats offers what we consider beautiful as well as functional boats. Black River Boats are easy to maintain and when tended well, will last a lifetime.

All our boats have the following features

* Fully variable speed in forward and reverse * A seat for the operator and passenger * Operation in as little as 8" of water * Steering tiller at left hand for precise control * Enclosed battery compartments * The ability to skip over obstacles in 5" of water * A well for dry storage, ice or flooded for a fish well

*Prices do not include batteries because of owner preference and shipping costs.

*Speeds and times are dependent on many factors such as battery state of charge and condition, trim and load of the boat, depth of water, wind and currents. The numbers above should be used as a guide.
